쉘이란?
쉘은 운영체제에서 대화형 사용자 인터페이스를 제공하기 위한 프로그램으로 사용자가 입력하는 명령어를 해석하고, 실행하는 역할을 수행한다. 쉘은 커널을 감싸고 있는 부분으로 운영체제의 핵심인 커널과 프로그램 및 사용자 인터페이스를 제공하는 중간 매개체로써 윈도우의 conmand.com의 역할을 하며 시스템 관리를 위한 실질적인 언어라 봐도 된다. 사용자는 쉘에서 제공하는 프롬프트를 이용하여 명령어를 입력하면 쉘은 입력한 명령어를 커널이 실행할 수 있는 언어로 변환하여 전달한후 실행하기 때문에 보통 쉘을 "명령어 해석기"라고도 한다.
프롬프트 상에서 리눅스 시스템을 접근할 수 있으며 다양한 유틸리티를 이용하여 더욱 강력한 유틸리티를 만들어 낼 수 있다. 또한 인터프리터를 지원하기 때문에 순차적 실행과 버그 수정이 매우 용이한 반면 실행 속도가 떨어지는 단점이 발생하게 되므로 덩치가 큰 프로그램 작성에는 부적합니다. 그러나 간단한 관리 유틸리티를 빠르고 간편하게 만들 수 있고 리눅스를 설치할 때 가장 기본적으로 제공되기 때문에 언제 어디서든 사용 가능하다.
*커널(kernel)
시스템의 부팅과 시스템을 사용하기 위한 입출력을 제공하는 부분으로 운영체제의 핵심적인 역할을 담당하게 된다. 커널에서 제공하는 기능으로 프로세서 관리 및 제어, 메모리 관리, 디스크 관리, 각종 장치들의 자원을 관리할 수 있는 필수 기능을 제공한다.

일반적인 웹기획은 이 부분을 말한다. 가장 많은 웹기획자들이 실제로 하고 있는 일. 웹사이트를 통해 구현하려는 사업을 인터넷의 특성에 맞도록 설계하여 웹 사이트로 구체화시키고, 디자이너나 프로그래머가 웹사이트를 제작할수 있도록 설계도를 그리는 단계이다.

1) 사이트의 목적 파악
확실한 기획과 목적없이 "이런 사이트에 사람이 많이 몰리지 않을까, 돈이 되지 않을까" 하는 막연한 기대감으로 사이트를 만드는 것은 실패할 확률이 높으며, 웹사이트 기획이 산으로 가는 경우가 많고 색깔이 없는 사이트가 되기 쉽다. 사이트의 목적은 나중에 세부적인 기획을 할 때도 항상 지침이 된다.
의뢰를 받아 제작하는 경우 의뢰자의 의도를 정확하게 파악하는 것은 무엇보다 중요하다. 의뢰자와 커뮤니케이션이 제대로 안되면 같은 일을 여러번 반복해야 하는 경우가 발생하기도 하고, 심지어 사이트를 다시 만들 경우가 생긴다. 이 사이트를 왜 만드는지 그 목적을 파악하는 것은 사이트를 기획할 때 가장 주의해야할 저밍기도 하며, 기획의 시작점이기도 하다.
2)인터넷 사이트 벤치마킹, 인터넷 통계 조사
사업의 시장 조사는 이미 사업 기획 단계에서 한 번 시행했지만 여기서 말하는 벤치마킹은 사업의 성공 가능성이 있는지를 위한 시장 조사 겅격이 아니라 경쟁업체나 유사업체들의 사이트, 또는 자신의 사이트에 접목할 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있는 사이트를 분석하여 내것으로 만드는 의미가 있다. 물론 웹 기획자라면 평소 다양한 여러 사이트를 분석 하는 것은 기본이지만, 사업을 구체화하기 위해서는 관련 사이트를 좀더 자세하게 분석하고 현재 만들려는 사이트와 비교하여 잘된 부분을 세밀하게 짚어보아야 할 것이다.
간혹 벤치마킹의 의미를 남의 것을 모방하는 것으로 오해하는 경우가 있는데, 벤치마킹은 모방이 아니다. 다른 사람의 것을 참고해 내 것을 창조하는 작업이다. 이는 웹 사이트뿌만 아니라 모든 분야에 해당하며, 진정한 벤치마킹이야말로 인류 문화를 발전시킨 원동력이다.
3) 컨텐츠 기획 및 구성(인포메이션 아키텍처)
사이트에 들어가는 내용과 기능들을 기획하는 단계로, 사이트의 여러 가지 정책적인 부분도 함께 결정된다. 예를 들면, 사이트 이용자의 대상 타겟은 어느 계층인지, 사이트를 유료화할 것인지 안 할 것인지, 회원 가입을 받을 것인지 아닌지, 상품판매를 할 것인지 아닌지, 정보 제공을 할 것인지 아닌지, 상품 판매를 할 것인지 아닌지, 정보 제공을 할 것인지, 한다면 어떤 카테고리로 나눌것이며, 각각 어떤 내용을 넣을 것인지, 또한 그 정보는 어떻게 공급받을 것이며, 얼마의 간격으로 업데이트할 것인지 등을 사이트에 따라서 결정해야할 내용은 많다.
4) 사이트 설계도(사이트맵) 작성
지금까지 기획한 사이트의 기획을 문서로 작성하는 단계이다. 문서의 형식에는 여러가지가 있지만, 기본적으로 사이트 전체를 파악할 수 있는 사이트 구성도와 사이트 맵을 작성하며, 주로 사이트 제작에 들어가는 모든 파일을 기준으로 만든다. 이외에도 필요에 따라 플로우차트, 스토리보드, 무드보드, 스타일시트 등을 작성한다.
5) 페이지 설계및 네비게이션, 유저빌리티 기획
각 페이지마다의 상세 설계도도 웹 기획자의 몱이다. 사이트 맵을 기준으로 해당 페이지의 구성 및 기획 요소들을 실제의 작업이 이루어질 수 있도록 문서화하는 작업을 한다. 이용자의 편의를 고려한 웹 유저빌리티 또한 최근에 상당히 각광받고 있는 분야이다.

사업 기획 단계
사업기획단계는 작은 의미의 웨 기획에서 본다면, 사실 웹 기획자의 업무 영역이 아닐수도 있다. 대부분의 웹 사이트가 돈을 벌기위한 비즈니스이고, 이런 비즈니스를 기획하기 위해서는 사업 계획에 대한 영역에 손을 대지 않을 수 없다. 하지만 실무에서는 실질적인 사업 전략 기획및 사업성에 대한 평가가 완료된 후에 웹 기획자에게 업무가 넘오는 경우가 대부분이기 때문에 웹 기획자의 업무가 아니라고 할 수 도 있다.
그러나 웹사이트의 기획과 제작.운영에 이르는 기획 업무의 프로시저를 다루어 자신이 웹기획 중 어떤 세부 분야에서 일을 하더라도 전체를 바라보며 일을 할 수 있기를 바라는 마음에서 1단계에 사업 기획 단계를 넣은 것이다. 인터넷이란 단어가 들어가면 컴퓨터와 연관하여 생각하게 되고, 프로그래머나 엔지니어를 생각하는 사람들이 많지만 웹기획자는 기본적으로 비즈니스를 만드는 사람, 즉 사업 전략 기획자이다.

1)아이디어의 구체화
많은 사람들은 누군가가 좋은 아이디어로 성공했다는 이야기를 들을 때마다 "아! 그거 내가 전에 생각했던 건데, 그때 내가 했으면 나도 성공할 수 있었는데"라며 후회를 한다. 하지만 아이디어만 가지고 있다고 해서 누구나 성공할 수 있는 것은 아니다. 하나의 아이디어가 사업화되고, 또 그 사업이 성공하기 위해서는 아주 많은 노력이 필요하다. 지금도 정말 좋은 아이디어들이 사업에 실패하여 우리의 기억 속에서 사라지고 있다. 사업적으로 좋은 아이디어를 어떻게 해야 실제 이윤을 남길 수 있는 사업으로 전환할 수 있는지를 설계하는 것이 바로 아이디어의 구체화 단계이다.
2) 시장 조사 및 경쟁사 분석
아이디어를 바탕으로 어느 정도 구상된 사업이 실제화되었을 때 시장의 환경 및 경쟁이 될 만한 상품과 회사를 연구하는 단계이다. 상품과 서비스는 공급하는 사람과 소비하는 사람이 있기 마련이고, 공급과 소비가 만나느 공간을 창조하는 것이다. 자신이 판매하게 될 서비스 상품이 어떤 시장에서 거래될 것인지, 시장의 규모는 어떤지, 특성, 성장 가능성, 특수성을 조사하는 단계이다. 주로 시장 조사라고 하고 소비층에 대한 조사를 말하고, 경쟁사 또는 경쟁상품조사라 하면 공급층에 대한 조사를 말하며, 이 두가지 다합해서 시장 조사라 하기도 한다. 이 시장 조사는 사업성을 평가할때 가장 중요한 자료로 사용되므로 객관적인 조사가 이루어질 수 있도록 모든 조치를 취해야 하는 아주 중요한 단계이다.
3) 사업성 평가
실행할 사업의 계획과 제반 요소(경쟁력, 기술력, 자본력)을 조사된 시장에 적용하면 얼마나 사업성이 있을지 예측하는 단계. 하지만 조사된 자료들을 통해서 사업의 성공 가능성을 객관적으로 예측하는 것은 매우 어렵다. 따라서 이 단계는 조금이나마 시행착오를 줄이고, 성공 가능성을 높이기 위한 과정이라 생각하면 된다.
만일 한치의 오차도 없는 사업성 평가 방법이 있다면 '사업 실패'라는 말은 이 세상에 존재하지 않을 것이다. 그러나 수많은 사람들이 경제와 경영학을 연구하는데도 하나의 사업이 성공할 확률은 매우 낮은 것이 현실. 간혹 자신의 아이디어를 사업화하면 무조건 성공한다고 말하는 사람들도 많다. 또 성공을 기정 사실화하고 나서 사업을 시작하는 사람들도 많이 있다.
4) 사업 계획서 작성
지금까지의 사업 계획을 논리에 따라 문서화 하고, 사업을 더욱 구체화하는 단계. 머릿속으로만 그려 놓았던 사업을 문서화, 구체적, 시장의 상황, 경쟁력 및 예상 손익 계산들을 논리적으로 풀어 보는 것은 사업의 성공 가능성을 가늠하고, 해당 사업의 리스크를 미리 알아내어 대책을 마련하거나, 사업을 보완할 기회를 얻을 수 있다는 이점을 가지고 있다.
실제 웹 기획자가 이런 일을 하는 경우는 많지 않지만 이 부분을 기반으로 웹 기획이 시작된다.
16 음식상 앞에서 천리 밖의 일을 알다
진 평공平公이 제나라를 치려고 범소를 시켜 직접가서 살펴보고 오게 하였다. 제齊 경공景公은 범소를 맞이하여 술자리를 베풀었다. 술기운이 오르자 범소가 이런 요구를 하였다. "임금께서 마시는 잔으로 축수를 올리고 싶습니다." 경고은 할 수 없이 허락했다. "과인의 잔에 술을 가득채워 저 손님께 드려라."
범소가 그 잔으로 축수를 하고 나서 그 술을 다 마시자 안자가 나섰다. "그 잔을 치우고 다른 잔으로 하십시오. 술잔은 얼마든지 있습니다." 이 말에 범소는 거짓으로 취한 체하면서 불쾌한 표정으로 일어나 춤을 추었다. 그리고 태사에게 이렇게 말했다. "나를 위해 성주의 음악을 연주해 주시겠습니까? 내 그대의 음악에 맞추어 춤을 추겠습니다." 그러자 태사는 이렇게 거절하였다. "눈이 어두운 저는 그 음악을 익히지 못했습니다."
이에 범소가 급히 나가 버리자 놀란 경공이 안자에게 물었다. "진나라는 대국입니다. 사람을 보내 우리 나라의 정치를 보고자 하는데, 지금 그대가 대국의 사신을 노하게 하였으니 장차 어찌하면 좋겠습니까?" 안자는 이렇게 대답하였다. "무릇 범소의 사람됨이 비루하거나 예를 모르는 무식한 인물은 아닙니다. 그의 의도는 우리 나라의 군신을 시험해 보려는 데 있었습니다. 그래서 제가 그를 끊어 버린 것입니다."
경공이 다시 태사에게 물었다. "그대는 어찌하여 그를 위해 성주의 음악을 연주해 주지 않았습니까?" 그러자 태사 또한 이렇게 대답하였다. "무릇 성주의 음악은 천자의 음악입니다. 만약 이를 연주하면 이는 그를 받들어 모신 제후 임금이 춤을 추어야 하는 것입니다. 지금 범소는 신하의 신분인데 천자의 음악으로 춤을 추고자 하니 그런 까닭으로 연주를 하지 않은 것입니다."
범소는 귀국하여 평공에게 이렇게 보고했다. "제나라는 칠 수 없습니다. 제가 그 임금을 시험하려 하였더니 안자가 이를 알아차렸고, 그 예를 범하려 하였더니 태사가 이를 알아차리더이다." 중니仲尼가 이 이야기를 듣고 이렇게 평하였다. "무릇 음식상 앞을 떠나지 않은 채 천리 밖의 일을 알도다!" 이는 안자를 두고 한 말이니 절충이라 이를 만하며, 태사 역시 그에 포함된다고 할 수 있다.

15 초나라의 보물
진나라가 초나라를 치려고 사자에게 초나라에 가서 보물을 살펴보도록 하였다. 초나라 임금이 이 소식을 듣고 영윤 자서를 불러 물었다. "진나라가 우리 초나의 보물을 보겠다 합니다. 우리 나라에는 화씨지벽과 수후지주가 있는데, 이를 보여주면 되겠습니까?" 영윤 자서는 이렇게 대답했다. "저는 모르겠습니다."
임금은 할 수 없이 소해휼을 불러 똑같은 질문을 하였다. 소해휼은 이렇게 대답했다. "이는 우리 나라의 득실을 알아내어 우리를 치고자 시도하는 것입니다. 나라의 존망은 보물에 달려 있는 것이 아니라 어진 신하에 달려 있습니다. 무릇 구슬이나 보백 같은 노리개는 중요한 보물이 되지 못합니다." 이말에 임금은 소해휼에게 그 진나라 사신을 응대하도록 하였다. 소해휼은 정병 300명을 뽑아 궁궐 서쪽 문에 배치시킨 뒤 동쪽에 하나, 남쪽에 넷 서쪽에 하나씩 단을 만들어 놓았다.
진나라 사신이 도착하자 소해휼은 이렇게 말했다. "귀하는 손님입니다. 그러니 동쪽 단으로 오르십시오." 그리고는 영윤 자서를 남쪽에 서도록 하고 태종 자오를 그 다음으로, 섭공 자고를 그 다음으로, 사마 자반을 그 다음의 차례로 자리를 정했다. 그리고 소해휼 자신은 서쪽 단에 올라 이렇게 설명하였다.
"손님께서 우리 초나라의 보물을 보고자 하시기에 이렇게 보여 드립니다. 초나라에서 보물로 여기는 것은 바로 여기에 자리한 어진 신하들입니다. 백성을 다스리고 곳집을 실하게 하여 백성이 각각 자기 나름대로 얻을 것이 있도록 한 것은 바로 여기 영윤 자서가 있기 때문입니다. 또 규벽을 받들고 여러 제후 나라에 사신으로 가서 서로 원망하거나 오해하는 일을 풀어 두 나라 사이에 즐거움을 교환하여 전쟁의 근심이 없도록 한 것은 바로 여기 태종 자오가 있기 때문입니다. 그런가 하면 국토를 지키고 그 경계를 관리함에 게으름이 없도록 하여 이웃 나라를 침략하지도 않고 이웃 나라의 침략 역시 받지 않도록 하는 것은 바로 여기 섭공 자고의 역할입니다. 군대를 잘 관리하고 무기를 정비하여 강한 적과 맞닥뜨렸을 때 전쟁의 북채를 잡고 백만 무리를 움직이되 시키기만 하면 모두 끓는 물과 무서운 불길에도 뛰쳐나가고 시퍼런 칼날조차 밟고 나가며, 만인이 죽어도 두려워하지 않고 자신의 생명을 아까워하지 않도록 훈련된 것은 바로 여기 사마 자반의 덕택입니다. 또 만약 패왕의 시대를 누렸던 의논거리가 아직 남아 있도록하고, 치란의 유풍이 이어지도록 하는 것이 있다면 이는 바로 나 소해휼이 있기 때문입니다. 오직 이것이 귀국이 보고 갈 일입니다.
진나라 사신은 이 말을 듣고 두려워하면서 더 이상 대답을 하지 못했다. 소해휼은 드디어 읍하고 자리 떳다. 진나라 사신은 귀국한 후 이 일을 진나라 임금에게 이렇게 보고하였다. "초나라에는 어진 신하가 많습니다. 그들은 상대로 어떻게 해보겠다는 도모하는 것은 어려운 일입니다." 결국 진나라는 초나라를 칠 계획을 철회하였다. [시]에 "훌륭하고 뛰어난 많은 선비들! 문왕은 이로써 안녕을 얻었네!"라고 하였으니, 바로 이런 경우를 두고 한 노래이다.
14 한 사람의 축원이 만 사람의 저주를 이길 수 없다.
중항인이 장차 나라가 망하려 하자 태축을 불러 그 죄를 뒤집어씌우려고 이렇게 말하였다. "그대는 나를 위해 신에게 제사지내는 일을 맡아 놓고 희생을 비쩍 마른 것을 쓰지는 않았는가? 또 재계를 하면서 경건하지 못한 행위를 하지는 않았는가? 그대가 내 나라를 망하게 했으니 어찌 그럴 수 있는가?"
그러자 태축 벼슬의 축간이 이렇게 말했다. "지난날 우리의 선대 임금이셨던 중항목자께서는 겨우 피거 십 승밖에 없었지만 그것이 초라하지 않은가 근심하는 일은 없었습니다. 오히려 자신의 덕의가 부족할까 걱정하였습니다. 그런데 지금 임끔께서는 혁거가 백 승이나 되는데도 덕의가 부족한 것은 근심하지 않고 오직 수레가 적다고 걱정하고 있습니다. 무릇 배나 수레를 화려하게 장식하려면 세금이 무거워지게 마련이고, 세금이 무거워지면 백성의 원망과 비방과 저주도 늘어나는 것입니다. 임금께서는 진실로 축원만 하면 나라에 이익을 더할 수 있다고 여기십니까? 그렇다면 백성의 저주도 장차 나라에 해를 끼쳐 끝내 세상이 망하고 말것입니다. 한 사람은 복을 달라고 빌고 온 나라의 백성은 이를 저주한다면, 한 사람의 축원이 만 사람의 저주를 이길 수 없을 것이니 나라가 망하는게 당연하지 않습니까? 태축이 무슨 죄가 있겠습니까?" 이말에 중항인은 뿌끄러워 어쩔 줄을 몰랐다.
13 임금이 어질면 그 신하도 곧다
위 문후가 사대부들과 함께 앉아 있다가 물었다. "과인은 어떤 임금인가?" 이에 여러 신하들이 일제히 "어진 임금이지요"라고 말했다. 뒤이어 들어온 적황은 이렇게 말하였다. "임금께서는 어진 임금이 아닙니다." 문후가 물었다. "그대는 무슨 이유로 그렇게 말하는가?" 적황은 이렇게 설명했다. "임금께서 중산을 징벌하고 나서 이 땅을 임금의 동생에게 봉해 주지 않고 임금의 장자에게 봉해 주셨지요. 이로써 저는 임금께서 어진 임금이 아니라는 것을 알게 되었습니다." 문후가 크게 화를 내며 적활을 내쫓으라 하자 적황이 일어나 나갔다.
뒤이러 임좌가 들어왔다. 문후가 물었다. "그대는 과인을 어떤 임금이라 생각하는가?" 임좌는 이렇게 대답했다. "어진 임금이십니다." 문후가 다시 물었다. "그대는 무슨 이유로 그렇게 말하는가?" 이 말에 임좌는 이렇게 설명하였다. "제가 듣기로 그 임금이 어질면 그 신하도 곧다고 하였습니다. 방금 적황이 임금에게 곧은 말을 하였지요. 이로써 저는 임금께서 어진 임금이라는 것을 알았습니다." 이 말에 문후가 "옳도다" 하고는 적황을 다시 불러들여 상경으로 삼았다.

그로부터 3년이 지난 어느날, 간자가 여러 대부들과 잔치를 벌이다 술이 거나하게 취하자 울음을 터뜨리는 것이었다. 여러 대부들이 놀라 일어나 다가가 물었다. "저희들이 죽을 죄를 지었습니다. 그러나 무슨 죄인지를 잘 모르겠습니다," 간자가 이렇게 설명했다. "대부들은 아무 죄가 없습니다. 지난 날 나의 친구 주사는 이렇게 말하였지요 '백 마리 양의 껍질보다 한 마리 여우의 겨드랑이 털이 낫다'고 말입니다. 그런데 지금 여러 사람들은 그저 내 말이라면 '예예' 할 뿐 주사처럼 나의 잘못을 꼬집어 기탄없이 말하는 자가 없습니다. 옛날 주는 그 신하들이 어리석은 자들뿐이었기 때문에 나라를 망쳤고, 무왕은 직억하는 신하들이 많았기에 창성할 수 있었던 것입니다. 주사가 죽고 난 뒤부터 나느 아직 나의 과실을 지적해 주는 말을 한 번도 듣지 못했습니다. 임금 된 자가 자신의 잘못을 들을 기회가 없거나 듣고 나서도 고치지 않으면 망하고 마는 법인데, 직언하는 신하가 없으니 우리 나라는 거의 망한 것입니다. 이 때문에 우는 것입니다."

그러자 회회는 얼른 이렇게 대답했다. " 신하된 자가 그 임금으 모멸하면 그 죄는 죽고 또 죽는 것이지요!" 간자가 의아히 여겨 물었다. "죽고 또 죽는 다는 말이 무슨 뜻인가?" 호회는 이렇게 설명하였다. "자기 자신이 죽고 그 처자까지 죽으니, 이를 두고 죽고 또 죽는다고 한 것입니다. 그런데 임금께서는 신하 된 자가 그 임금을 모멸하였을 때 그 죄가 어떠한지를 이미 들으셨겠지만, 반대로 남의 임금 된 자가 그 신하를 모멸하였을 때 그 죄가 어떠한지는 들으셨는지요?"
간자가 다시 물었따. "남의 임금 된 자가 그 신하를 모멸하다니 이는 무슨 뜻인가?" 호회는 이렇게 설명했다. "임근 된 자가 그 신하를 모멸하면 지혜있는 자는 임금을 위해 머리를 짜내지 않으며, 말 잘하는 자는 임금을 위해 사신으로 가려 하지 않고, 용맹이 있는 자는 임금을 위해 싸우려 하지 않게 되지요. 지혜 있는 자가 모책을 내놓지 않으면 사직이 위태로워지고, 말 잘하는 자가 사신으로 가지 않겠다고 하면 외교가 통하지 못하며, 용맹이 있는 자가 임금을 위해 싸우려 하지 않으면 변경이 침략을 받게 되고 맙니다."

Rational Unified Process에서 반복적 프로젝트 관리를 서술하는 방식과 Scrum의 방식을 비교하여 보자. RUP는 반복적 프로젝트 관리를 RUP라고 하는 큰 프로세스와 강력히 결합되어 분리할 수 없는 부분으로 묘사하고 있으며 Unified Process 생명주기 유즈케이스, 컴포넌트, 아키텍처 기반 없이는 사용하기 어렵게 서술되어 있다. 이는 고객이 다른 프랙티스들을 모두 적용하지 않고 원하는 프랙티스만 적용하는 것을 어렵게 만들고 있다.
